Kentucky State Police Arrest Motorcyclist Following High Speed Chase

Hopkinsville, KY - Kentucky State Police arrested an Oak Grove man following a high speed chase with a motorcycle.  State Police Sergeant Jason Newby observed a motorcycle traveling southbound at the 33 Mile Marker, on the Pennyrile Parkway, in excess of 140 MPH.

Sergeant Newby attempted to stop the vehicle by activating his emergency equipment, but the operator of the vehicle failed to stop and continued to travel southbound on the parkway. The vehicle was finally stopped at the 13 Mile Marker by Trooper Luis Palmer, without incident. The driver of the vehicle, 34 year old Mort L. Packer was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Speeding Over 26 MPH, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 1st and Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree – Motor Vehicle.
