James Madison Middle School Basketball Jamboree

Hopkins County, KY - Thursday afternoon was the “afternoon blue and white madness” at James Madison Middle school as the basketball season officially opened.

With the teachers starting it off with a rousing game, both the girls and boys teams were presented to the fans.  Both the boys’ team and the girl’ team were each split into the blue team and the white and then they scrimmaged each other.

It is too early to really tell how the teams are going to fare this year. However, in looking at the boys’ team, they seem to have quite a bit of height and a lot of quickness this year. They are an aggressive team as they fought for rebounds and dove after and fought for the ball.  Where the girls’ team doesn’t have as much height, the do appear to have a lot of quickness. Neither team has been practicing very long so as the season moves along, expect to see both of these teams working together and each becoming a cohesive unit.

The season gets underway for the boys as they travel to Henderson Holy Name next Thursday at 5:30. For the girls, their season will start on Tuesday November 9 as they travel to Henderson South, while the boys will play them at home that day. For some exciting middle school basketball this season, plan on following the James Madison Middle School Patriots boys’ and girls’ basketball teams.
