HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – A Madisonville man was injured Tuesday morning after crashing his vehicle on KY 70.
Tommy Fletcher, age 63 of Madisonville, KY, was operating a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country van westbound on KY 70. Mr. Fletcher lost control of his vehicle and exited the westbound shoulder of the roadway where the vehicle made contact with an earth embankment. He overcorrected, crossed both lanes of travel, exiting the eastbound shoulder of the roadway striking an earth embankment causing his vehicle to overturn onto its top. It came to rest partially in the eastbound lane of travel facing north. Mr. Fletcher was transported by ambulance to Regional Medical Center for treatment. Reports state that Mr. Fletcher was wearing a seat belt. Trooper Ben Sawyer investigated the crash that occurred on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 8:41 a.m.
Trooper Ryan Fox, the Richland Fire Department, and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
