Madisonville, KY - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night near Nebo.
State Police report 30 year old Toni Lantrip was operating a 2000 Nissan Quest. She was stopped in the southbound lane of US 41A waiting to make a left turn. At that time, state police say 21 year old James Pinkston was operating a 1991 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight southbound on US 41A approaching Lantrip’s vehicle. Pinkston could not stop in time so he swerved into the northbound lane of travel and struck the left, front bumper of Lantrip’s vehicle as she was attempting to turn. The impact of the collision caused Pinkston’s vehicle to overturn onto its top, coming to final rest on its top facing south just off the northbound shoulder of the roadway. Lantrip’s vehicle came to final rest in the southbound lane of travel facing south. Pinkston’s passenger, 20 year old Anna Hormann, was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
