HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Mrs. Frances T. McGehee, age 93, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Madisonville, KY died at 2:45 A.M  on Tuesday, November 16 at Brakebill Nursing & Rehab in Knoxville, TN. 

She was born August 28, 1917 in Ridgely, TN to the late Jesse Ray Thomas and Dora Dyer Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James B. McGehee.

Mrs. McGehee was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. She was also a former substitute teacher in Russellville, KY school system.

She is survived by one son, James T. McGehee of Knoxville, TN; one brother, Dr. J.R. Thomas of Memphis, TN; one grandson, David McGehee of Knoxville, TN; two granddaughters; Leslie McGehee of Knoxville, TN and Mrs. Fred Spires of Radcliff, KY; one great grandson, Adam Spires of Radcliff, KY and two great granddaughters, Gina and Beverly Spires also of Radcliff, KY.

A celebration of her life will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Don Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery at approximately 2:00 P.M. near Union City, TN.

Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday and after 9:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
