Remembering the Ice Storm a Year Later

MADISONVILLE, KY - It was nearly a year ago when a devastating ice-storm struck Western Kentucky. It was an event that most people will never forget.

Our lives charged in so many ways. Many were displaced from their homes for a while, others could not go to work and our basic needs were in question for a few days. Businesses, including grocery stores were closed and gas stations were not open. Surviving was the main thought on all our minds. Many were cold and worried and concerned about the future.

The ice storm was an experience that we will not only never forget, but many have videos and pictures documenting the largest natural disaster. Seeing bucket trucks traveling in convoys, emergency vehicles, and other recovery workers was a daily scene for weeks.

iSurf is working on a story for the one-year anniversary of the event. If you would like to help, send us your pictures so we can add it to our story and, tell us in a couple of sentences your thoughts or what you experienced during that time.
