HOPKINS COUNTY, KY—At approximately 8:30am this morning, November 19th, over 60 people watched as members of Trover Health System and Wal-Mart celebrated the official opening of their new Convenient Care facility.
Located adjacent to the Wal-Mart grocery section entrance, the Convenient Care facility will offer “quality healthcare that is both accessible and affordable.”
"Opening a clinic location in Wal-Mart will assist Trover in its mission to improve access to healthcare in our community," said Trover President and CEO E. Berton Whitaker. "Convenient Care will be staffed with a licensed healthcare provider, open seven days a week, including nights and weekends. Quality care with flexible hours will strengthen Trover's mission to provide healthcare solutions with compassion and respect for the uniqueness of every individual."
Trover's Convenient Care will treat and screen for common illness and minor injuries, such as allergy conditions, flu, sore throat, minor skin infections, blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes screenings, mono testing, strep testing, smoking cessation, and more.
According to Trover’s official website, primary care physicians at all locations are currently accepting new patients and a Convenient Care provider can help patients establish a relationship with any of these physicians when needed. Additionally, patients can seek care at the Care Center located at Trover Clinic, or emergency treatment at the Trover Emergency Department for life threatening injuries or ailments.
"This will be a big win for our community," said Madisonville's Wal-Mart Store Manager, Sandi Brooks. "The partnership between Trover and Wal-Mart will help bring affordable and manageable healthcare to Hopkins County."
Convenient Care will be open the following hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9am-6pm; Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-5pm.; and Sunday from 1-6pm. In addition, prices will be clearly posted so that patients will always know the cost before treatment. Patients can also pay cash or Trover will file claims with participating health plans.
