HOPKINS COUNTY, KY – David H. Wicks, 70, Henderson, died at 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
He was a member of Watson Lane Baptist Church. David was a retired yardmaster with CSX Transportation. He was also a member of Henderson Masonic Lodge No. 958 and Rizpah Temple and was past president of International Association Legions of Honor. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served with the 2nd Reconnaissance Technical Squadron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobart McKinley and Loyce Pauline Knight Wicks.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Wanda Wicks; one son, Mike Wicks and his wife, Lindy, and one grandson, Hobbs Wicks, all of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Julia Foster of Madisonville; one brother, Charles Wicks of Madisonville; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 17 at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Brad Harrison will officiate. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be conducted by Henderson Masonic Lodge No. 958 at 6 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be members of Henderson Masonic Lodge No. 958.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
