HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Darlene Kington, 72, of Madisonville, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2010 at her residence in Madisonville.
She was born May 3, 1938, in Evansville, IN to the late Frederick Carl and Mamie Eva Rapp Dick.
Mrs. Kington was a member of Earlington First Christian Church and Christian Women’s Fellowship, where she served as Sunday School teacher and Elder. She taught pre-school for 19 years at First Christian Church in Madisonville.
She is survived by her husband of 53 ½ years, Duane Kington of Madisonville; three daughters, Debbie (Tony) Parson of Canton, GA, Donna (Mike) Offutt of Carmi, IL and Jeanie (Greg) Carlton of Benton, KY; one son, Darrell (Connie) Kington of Franklin, KY; one sister, Janet Scheller of Evansville, IN; caregiver, Jeanne Ann Clayton of Madisonville; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Earlington First Christian Church with Dr. Tom Steiner and Rev. Kim Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 12:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Kington, Mark Evans, Josh Carlton, Brandon Offutt, Mitchell Parson and Jason Burris.
Memorial donations may be made to the Earlington First Christian Church, Green River Hospice Patient Care or the Hopkins County Food Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
