HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Charles (Tarzan) Edward Abbott, 90 of Nortonville, KY, died Monday, November 8 at his home.
Born in Butler Co., KY, he was the son of the late Samuel and the late Lizetta (Cartwright) Abbott. He served in WWII in the United States Army.
He was a retired Coal Miner, employed by Island Creek Fies Mines, District 23 Mr. Abbott was a member of Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.
Survived by his wife: Carrie Irene (Hill) Abbott, one daughter: Helen Hulsey of Nortonville, KY and two sons: Sherley Edward (Janice) Abbott of Nortonville, KY, Barry Lyndon Abbott of Nortonville, KY; three sisters: Flora Harvey of White Plains, KY, Bonnie Williams of Evansville, IN, Mildred Perkins of Cadiz, KY and one brother: Norman Abbott of Nortonville, KY; 2 Granddaughters, Angelia Gamblin of Nortonville, KY; Felicia Skinner of Nortonville, KY; 2 grandsons, Trent Abbott of Nortonville, KY; Vince Abbott of Pensacola, FL; several nieces and nephews, 9 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
Predeceased by 2 daughters, Martha Angeline Abbott, Barbara Abbott Gamblin, son, Glenn Douglas Abbott, granddaughter, Rhonda McIntosh, grandson, Gary Alan Hulsey Jr., 5 brothers, John Henry Abbott, Rupert Abbott, Rufus Abbott, Luther Abbott, Parlon Abbott, 2 sisters, Kester Johnson, Nancy Daughtery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 pm and Thursday from 9am-11am at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville, KY.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 11 at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville.
Interment will be Thursday in New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville.
